IFRD1基因的表达还与胃癌的发生相关。研究发现,IFRD1基因中的rs3807213位点的C等位基因和C/C基因型与胃癌的易感性相关[6]。而IFRD1基因的高表达与结肠癌患者的预后不良相关,提示IFRD1基因可能参与调控肿瘤行为[9]。

此外,IFRD1基因的表达与脂肪细胞的能量代谢也相关。研究发现,交感神经刺激可以显著诱导IFRD1基因的表达,而IFRD1基因缺失的棕色脂肪细胞中,PGC-1α的表达升高,提示IFRD1基因可能通过抑制PGC-1α的表达来调节脂肪细胞的能量代谢[7]。
