在心脏衰竭患者中,Timm17b的表达水平下调,这与其他多种线粒体质量控制(MQC)基因的下调一致,包括COX1、NRF1、TFAM、SIRT1、MTOR、MFF、DNM1L、DDIT3、UBL5、HSPA9、HSPE1、YME1L、LONP1、SPG7、HTRA2、OMA1、TIMM23、TIMM17A、TIMM44、PAM16、TIMM22、TIMM9、TIMM10、PINK1、PARK2、ROTH1、PARL、FUNDC1、BNIP3、BNIP3L、TPCN2、LAMP2、MAP1LC3A和BECN1等。这些基因的下调与心脏衰竭患者中线粒体功能障碍的发生密切相关[1]。

在乳腺癌中,Timm17b的表达水平显著升高,与肿瘤的免疫浸润、耐药性和铁死亡相关。研究发现,Timm17b的表达水平与乳腺癌患者的预后相关,高表达Timm17b的患者预后较好。此外,Timm17b的表达水平与免疫浸润水平呈负相关,提示Timm17b可能参与肿瘤免疫微环境的调控[2]。
