MGI:1924841Mice homozygous for a spontaneous allele exhibit craniofacial defects, including decreased cranium length, cleft palate, and short snout, and show reduced body size, body weight, lean body mass, and bone mineral content. Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show complete embryonic lethality before implantation. In vitro, embryos fail to hatch from the zona pellucida and die after 3 days in culture.
