RFC5在宫颈癌中也发挥重要作用。RFC5在宫颈癌组织中的表达水平显著上调,且与患者的总生存期相关。研究发现,RFC5相关的免疫基因可用于构建新的宫颈癌预后模型,预测患者的生存率[3,6]。此外,RFC5的表达水平与宫颈癌患者的无病生存期无关[6]。

RFC5的功能和作用机制在酵母中得到了深入研究。RFC5是酵母中S期检查点通路的重要成分,参与了DNA损伤信号的传递和Rad53蛋白激酶的磷酸化。RFC5的突变会导致酵母细胞在S期检查点功能受损,对DNA损伤剂敏感[5,7,8]。RFC5与RAD24等蛋白质相互作用,共同参与了酵母细胞对DNA损伤的响应[7,8]。
