GRM4还与青少年肌阵挛癫痫(JME)相关。研究显示,位于6p21.3染色体区域的GRM4基因可能与JME的易感性相关。然而,一些研究并未发现GRM4基因变异与JME之间的显著关联,这可能需要进一步的研究来证实[6,7]。

在骨肉瘤的进展中,浸润性髓细胞通过GRM4调节IL23的表达,从而驱动肿瘤的进展。研究表明,GRM4在髓细胞中表达,并选择性调节IL23和相关细胞因子IL12的表达。骨肉瘤条件培养基可以诱导髓细胞中Il23的表达,同时抑制Il12的表达。IL23的表达与患者的生存率相关,表明IL23/IL12轴在骨肉瘤的发生发展中起着重要作用[8]。
