AIMP1在免疫系统中也发挥着重要作用。AIMP1可以促进单核细胞/巨噬细胞和树突状细胞的炎症基因表达,参与固有免疫和适应性免疫的调节。AIMP1的缺乏会导致小鼠发生自发性Type-2气道高反应性,表明AIMP1在免疫调节中具有重要作用。AIMP1还可以通过促进CD8+ T细胞的活化,增强肿瘤特异性细胞毒性T淋巴细胞(CTL)的免疫反应,从而提高癌症免疫治疗的疗效[4,6]。

AIMP1还可以影响脂肪细胞的分化和成熟。AIMP1通过与过氧化物酶体增殖物激活受体γ(PPARγ)的DNA结合结构域相互作用,抑制其转录活性,从而负调节脂肪生成过程。AIMP1的缺乏会导致脂肪细胞分化增强,表明AIMP1在脂肪代谢中具有重要作用[7]。
